Peter Fitzpatrick graduated in 1991 from Syracuse University with a dual major in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, and in Spanish Language, Literature and Culture from the School of Arts and Sciences.  He received his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  While at Widener he served as a clerk with the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and completed an internship with the United Nations Environment Programme in Geneva, Switzerland. 

Mr. Fitzpatrick worked as in-house counsel for a large communications technology company and later served as General Counsel for an international satellite communications company.  In private practice since 2003, Mr. Fitzpatrick practices in a variety of disciplines while focusing on civil and commercial litigation, business and transactional law, real estate, estates and trusts, and divorce and child custody.  Mr. Fitzpatrick is certified by the Administrative Office of the Courts to be appointed as a best interests attorney and child advocate in child custody proceedings.  As a part of our real estate practice, the firm is able to offer our clients the additional services provided by Excalibur Title & Escrow, LLC, a highly-regarded Maryland title company with offices in Frederick, Montgomery and Washington counties.

Mr. Fitzpatrick is active in his community and served on the Executive Committee of the Bar Association of Frederick County for many years, including a term as President in 2010, where he succeeded his grandfather, John R. Fitzpatrick, who also served in that position exactly fifty years before.  Mr. Fitzpatrick is a past chair of the Pro Bono Committee of Frederick County, past chair of the Board of Directors of Mother Seton School, past chair of the International Committee of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek, and a past member of the Board of Directors of Old Farm Condominium Association.  He presently serves on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek where he is President-Elect, and serves as a lector for St. John the Evangelist Church.

In 2010 Mr. Fitzpatrick was elected a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation.  He received the James McSherry Award for outstanding service to the Bar Association of Frederick County.  In 2016 Mr. Fitzpatrick was honored with an AV Preeminent rating through Martindale Hubbell, meaning that his peers and members of the judiciary rank him at the highest levels of eithics and professional competency.  He enjoys golf, tennis, running and scuba diving.
